Green Construction and Team Design

Question: Discuss about the Green Construction and Team Design. Answer: Introduction Green construction generally refers to both the structures as well as processes which are environmentally responsible as well as resource efficient throughout the life cycle of a building (Ramioul, Benders and Peteghem 2016). The cycle of Green Construction includes designing, construction, operations, maintenance, renovation as well as demolition. The design of green building mainly deals with achieving proper balance between the sustainable environment as well as homebuilding. Green construction is quite advantageous as it helps in preserving the most of the natural environment across the project site. The assignment mainly illustrates the objective of the report, importance of green construction, its advantages and technologies used in green construction. The report also discusses real life application of green construction. Objective The main objective of the report is to represent a real world application as well as significance of Green Construction in the market. The design of Green Construction is helpful in promoting a healthy environment for preserving the natural environment across the world. The report generally focuses on the advantages of green construction in todays world. Specific objective The specific objectives of green construction include: To reduce the operation as well as maintenance cost of a building To create energy efficient building To preserve natural environment To reduce strain on available resources To bring water and energy efficiency within building To create market for green product as well as services To improve the productivity of occupant Importance of Green Construction design and their advantages Green Construction helps in creating both structures as well as processes, which are environmentally sound. The constructions as well as operation of green building are quite advantageous as it helps in promoting a healthy environment across the building. The buildings are generally designed in such a way that they are helpful in reducing the overall negative impact on the environment (Shao and Cheng 2013).It helps in reducing pollution as well as degradation of the environment, helps in using the resources as well as energy efficiently and helps in protecting occupants health. By adopting greener practices in constructing a building, the maximum advantage that is gained is from environmental as well as from economic aspect. When the method of green construction are integrated in design it helps in providing some most significant benefits which includes reduction in the wastage of water, conservation of natural resources, improvement in the quality of air and water and protection of biodiversity as well as ecosystems (Shi et al. 2013). From economic perspective, it helps in improving the quality of life, helps in minimizing the strain on local infrastructure and helps in improving the health and comfort of the occupant. Advantages of Green Construction There are numerous advantages of green construction, which are described below: Cost: Green Construction are very much cost-effective because they are generally built of natural resources which does not get damaged that fast as compared to simple home building (Hwang, Zhu and Ming 2016). Due to this advantage, the cost that is required for maintaining, renovating as well as operating the building is very much less. Efficiency: Green construction helps in providing proper water, energy as well as material efficiency. The green building recycles the wastewater and utilizes it in some other purpose, which helps in enhancing the efficiency of the water (Kibert 2016). It also assists in saving the energy, as it is entirely dependent on renewable energy resources including solar power, wind power as well as hydropower. Preservation of infrastructure: The concepts of Green constructions are very much helpful in stretching the capacity of the local infrastructure (Bohari et al. 2016).This is due to high efficiency of energy as well as water supply. High ROI rates: The green buildings are natural and therefore they have a huge return on the rates of investment. Technologies used in Green Construction The technologies that are used in Green Construction include: Smart Appliances: Smart appliances like dishwasher, refrigerators are used for making the life of human being innovative as well as smart (Cunningham, Flynn and Chapman 2015). Storm Water management: The water management system is designed in such a way that it helps in managing large volumes of water. The Zero Energy Home: It is generally built for having excellent insulation within the building (Ramioul, Benders and Peteghem 2016). Electro chromic Smart Glass: It helps in providing the ability to select for reducing transparency. Geothermal heating: The procedure of geothermal heating is environmental friendly Biodegradable materials: The use of biodegradable materials helps in making the procedure of disposal eco-friendly (Hao et al. 2015). Green Insulation: Green insulation is generally cost effective and helps in improving the efficiency of the energy. It also helps in reducing fossil fuel combustion, which are required in a building. Materials findings The materials that are required for constructing green building include wool brick, sustainable concrete, solar tiles, paper insulation and triple-glazed windows (Shao and Cheng 2013). All this materials are used for constructing green building sustainably so that it does not have a negative impact on the environment. Real Life application The concept of green construction is adopted world widely. Some of the examples include: Birds Nest: The stadium of Beijing is known as birds nest that incorporates solar power and rainwater collection. The German Reichstag: The building is situated in Berlin and the energy efficient system of the building is dependent on solar energy, geothermal power and generators (Allianz.com 2017). Prospect New Town: It is present in USA and the building is mixture of housing, detached homes as well as shops. Conclusion It can be concluded that Green construction is very much advantageous as it provides number of benefits for improving the quality of environment by reducing degradation. It is analyzed that the concept of green building helps in providing number of advantages including water conservation, temperature moderation, and storm water management and emission reduction. The integration of green construction within its design helps in providing significant benefits. It is analyzed that there are number of real life application of Green Construction.
